Welcome to The Pottery Academy's Pottery Template Generator. By using this service, you agree to these Terms of Service. If you do not agree, please do not use the service.
Our service lets you design custom pottery templates for the slab-building technique. The generator and 3D preview are free to explore; unlocking and downloading print-ready PDF templates is a one-time purchase (see Purchases, Pricing & Payment below). These templates are designed to make pottery more accessible and enjoyable for everyone.
Template Usage Rights
Templates downloaded from The Pottery Academy are provided for personal use. This means you may:
- Download and print templates for your own pottery projects
- Use templates as many times as you like for personal creations
- Sell pottery you make using our templates - the value is in your craft and skill, not the template
- Share photos of your finished pottery (attribution appreciated!)
You may not:
- Redistribute, resell, or share the PDF templates themselves
- Remove, alter, or obscure watermarks or branding on templates
- Claim the templates as your own creation
- Use automated systems to mass-download templates
Commercial Use
For commercial or business use of our templates at scale, such as:
- Teaching workshops or pottery classes
- Use in pottery studios or educational institutions
- Redistributing templates to students or customers
- Including templates in commercial products or services
A commercial license will be available in a future paid tier. In the meantime, please contact us to discuss commercial use.
Purchases, Pricing & Payment
Unlocking print-ready PDF templates is a one-time purchase — there is no subscription and nothing recurring to cancel. Current options are a single template unlock and an all-templates bundle; the exact prices are shown on our pricing page before you pay.
- Payments are processed securely by Stripe. We never see or store your full card details.
- Your purchase unlocks the template(s) on your account and gives you ongoing access to download them. The all-templates bundle also includes every future template we add.
- Promotional prices (for example, a Founders' Week discount) apply only while the offer is active and are subject to its stated end date.
Refunds & Cancellation
Our templates are digital and delivered instantly. By completing your purchase you consent to immediate supply and acknowledge that you lose the statutory 14-day right to cancel once you access or download your templates.
For this reason, all sales are final and we do not offer refunds. If you have a problem with your purchase — a download that won't open, the wrong item unlocked, or a billing error — please contact us and we'll put it right.

The watermarks and branding on our templates help others discover our service. Please do not remove them. If you share photos of pottery made with our templates, we appreciate (but do not require) attribution to The Pottery Academy.
Email and Account
Buying a template requires an account, which you create with your email address (via a magic sign-in link or Google sign-in). We use your email to sign you in, send your purchase receipt, and provide support.
If you opt in, we may also send occasional pottery tips, new-template announcements, and updates — you can unsubscribe at any time using the link in any email. For details on how we handle your data, see our Privacy Policy.
Disclaimer
Our templates are provided "as is" without warranty of any kind. While we strive for accuracy, we cannot guarantee that:
- Templates will produce perfect results for every clay type or technique
- Dimensions will match exactly after clay shrinkage (shrinkage varies by clay body)
- Your printer will output templates at the correct scale
- Pottery made from templates will survive firing or daily use
Always verify template dimensions after printing by measuring with a ruler before cutting your clay.
Limitation of Liability
Pottery involves working with tools, kilns, and high temperatures. You are responsible for your own safety. The Pottery Academy is not liable for:
- Any injuries that occur while making pottery
- Pottery that breaks, cracks, or fails during drying, firing, or use
- Any damages or losses resulting from using our templates
- Inaccuracies in shrinkage calculations or template dimensions
Changes to These Terms
We may update these Terms of Service from time to time. We will post any changes on this page and update the "Last updated" date. Your continued use of the service after changes constitutes acceptance of the new terms.
